A collection of creative work from the Birth Your Truest Story community
We want your stories—fiction and non-fiction—as well as poems and essays. We’re also soliciting original artwork (electronic versions of paintings, drawings, collage, mixed-media, or photos of three-dimensional works) for possible use on the cover and/or interior.
So get out your pens, pencils, electronic writing implements, paints, crayons, clay, open the door for your muse, and create!

FAQs
Does my submission need to relate to a particular theme or topic?
No (although we often find that common themes emerge from collections of creative work as sometimes happens during our open mic events). If you’d like to write to a prompt, see the Prompts and Meditations space for inspiration.
How many pieces may I submit?
Up to two pieces with a total word count of 3,000. You can see all the submission guidelines on the form.
Am I guaranteed to get published?
We won’t call it a guarantee, but we will say that this isn’t a contest and there’s no vetting committee. We intend to publish work from everyone who submits. That said, as editors, we welcome the opportunity to help you make your stories shine. You can let us know in the submission form if you’re open to editorial feedback. If we note anything that could be strengthened, we’ll work with you one on one.
Can I submit something that has been published elsewhere?
Yes, as long as you retain rights (or they have reverted to you), you may submit previously published work.
What form will the final book take, and how will I receive copies?
We intend to produce both print and electronic versions. Every submitter will receive an electronic copy. The print version will be produced on a platform like Lulu to allow you (and family, friends, or anyone else) to purchase copies directly.
